How’s everyone cleaning their adjustable drivers?

7 weeks into owning my first adjustable club and as someone who cleans their kit after each use its clear that keeping the driver clean is quite different from the old one so just wondered what others are using to keep their kit in good nick

My driver will quickly break down into 4/5 pieces, head, shaft, connecting screw & removable weight (+2nd screw)

Lots of nooks & crannies for dirt/moisture to hide, build-up and subsequently damage or shorten the clubs life

Warm water & soap is the usual stuff for regular clubs but wondering if I should be trying anything else on the moveable/removable parts. I split it down completely after Saturdays game and was quite surprised at the build up of dirt etc in the various parts
 
To be clear, not cleaning my golf gear isn't an option (even if it weren't for the slight CDO & simple pride and the enjoyment of it)

Humidity here means clubs, shoes, bag, head-covers etc etc will all rust/corrode & fall apart if left dirty/wet. So either clean it or have the cash to replace more frequently than it needs to be (but I cleaned the same in UK so its not all about humidity)

Just a soft brush and a bit of soapy water should do the trick. I did rather wonder about the weight tracks on the bottom of some recent TM drivers. The speed slots on my RBZ Stage 2's seem to get clogged up with mud, particularly in the winter. :(

Yup I'd say a head on stage 2 will weight twice as much by the time the speed slots full of crud ;)

As you say the TM rails/tracks etc will all get dirty at some point and all adjustable clubs will have similar hiding places

Soap/water works to an extent but I can go from sparkly clean to surface rust in less than a week, so cant leave it unchecked for too long
 
The SLDR I owned was a Royal pita to clean with the weight grove moving from toe to heel getting muck in at a regular basis. Not bad when a scientifically placed weight has weight added to it by unwanted muck.
Anyway a soak in the sink in warm soapy water and a minute or two with the old toothbrush did it.
I have a box of surgical scrubs which I also use but these brushes are to soft to clean in the hosel screw area.
Wouldnt say I have OCD when it comes to my bats, I may not be the best golfer there is but I won't be the scruffiest either.

dont think my drivers get dirty,if its wet and muddy it dosent touch the ground ,and i dont hit the ground when i play a shot with it either.how do you all get mud encrusted into the gubbins of your drivers?

Afternoon, Yeah find it surprising that some of the forum lads harp on about importance in lie angles, custom fitting, flightscopes etc etc yet others (or maybe even the same) would actually play with a groove depth smoothed out with crud, channels & tracks with compacted mud and adjustable clubs with added weight in other places

Many have shelled out hundreds or more on clubs yet seem to treat it like the dregs in the morning starbucks (but maybe they're just joshing and are actually as fastidious as us) :D





Avalon's good, played it a handful of times now and it definitely needs some time to bed in and mature a bit but its nice to play somewhere different to the normal rotation so I'll keep going regularly enough (& they're offering a cracking green fee rate just now too)
