Due to virgin tv putting prices up again I can no longer justify the price they want for it, I simply don't watch enough tv to justify the cost. I currently have broadband and tv (no phone) with virgin and have the movie and sports package.
It's costing me £80 a month. So the time has come for it to go.
Anybody got any suggestions as to cheaper alternatives. I may well have to keep the broadband as I use it in my iPad. Or does anybody know a good mobile phone/iPad deal that I could use the data allowance on both and do away with the house broadband.
What's netflix like? Any good??

Any other suggestions??

Netflix is OK, my kids use it a lot. You can always download TV shows etc from the internet pretty easily too.

Netflix is wonderful, I find I use it more than my normal TV package lately, loads of films and series

Just finished orange is the new black, which was great, starting 5 seasons of Sons of Anarchy now, will move onto the killing or house of cards next

£5.99 a month! Great value

I have just got BT Infinity installed with BT TV and all the extra channels and on demand content. Free BT and ESPN sport but without Sky Movies and Sport. 80meg internet. All in it costs £55 a month including line rental. The music section of on demand is excellent. Loads of videos and hundreds of albums you can play through your TV going back to the 50's.

I'm also thinking of getting rid of my Virgin media package and replacing it with something else. Thing is though, is there an alternative apart from Sky that will give me Sky Sports as I do like the golf and a bit of football?

The above said box, allegedly gives you movies and sports, it's called an "android mx box" it needs to have xbmc installed on it, they cost around £60. It basically works through your broadband and everything you view in online
I have heard of these but have never had one or seen it being used.
So was wondering if anybody had any experience of them
