So you've made a cheese on toast and are looking to add a bit of spice. What hot sauce do you reach for?

I usually go for a Nandos Hot because it has a nice rounded flavour without being too chilli hot. Also reminds me of home.

As involved with a South American restaurant I would recommend Pips hot sauce (google it) as she does several grades of sauces, she even makes one especially for my kitchen team which is stupidly hot
Failing that try one f## shot - no swearing allowed on here but genuinely that is the name, not cheap though

Massive chilli fan here, love that Nando's stuff it's got a really nice bitter sweet taste.
I usually pick up a bottle of something if I've not come across it before, the Thomasina Miers sauces are superb, I think the brand is called Wahaca but the supermarkets are a bit hit and miss with it.

Interesting thoughts :) I've always been a sprinkling of paprika before it goes under the grill type of chap, with maybe a bit of ham hidden underneath... right I'm peckish now and we're out of bread...

Hot pepper sauce stuff, think its the west indian one in supermarket, or tabasco.

I find the nando's a bit mild actually, its nice enough but needs more kick.

best for me is finely sliced hot chilli's (seeds n all) under the cheese mmmmmmmmmmmm

Nando's has a good kick to it but, IMO, the taste is only suitable on poultry or pork at a push. Same for Frank's hot sauce. Tabasco also has very limited use.

Recently I'm finding I love the sinus clearing properties of a really, really, REALLY strong horse radish sauce on anything from gammon to chicken wraps to pizza.

As for cheese on toast, it just isn't meant to be that hot. Lots of cheesy, tons of black pepper and generous amounts of Worcestershire Sauce is lovely. Add thinly sliced tomato on top for a lovely pizza type twist or, failing that, a thin coating of tomato sauce underneath the cheese.

What about a Parmo from hot shots! Got to have lashings of chilli on it. Breakfast of champions
