Horrible Day.....Horrible Golf

Murph's Swings and Roundabouts thread from the other day summed up mine and CVG's rounds today in the June Midweek Stableford.
The rain was biblical, then it stopped and the Sun came out, then it rained, then Sun, then rain.... Sometimes the rain was so intense we just had to take shelter for 20 minutes.

A fantastic front 9 accumulation of 10 for CVG and 12 for me almost made us turn left towards the carpark after the 9th rather than right to the 10th....
It was at the 9th I actually started playing and found my game. A run of 3 pars followed by a nett par, birdie and another par. Playing well too. THen all of a sudden it disappeared again!
CVG was remarkably steady most of the way round. Steadily bad that is until for some reaon he managed to chip in on 17 for a 4 point birdie and followed it up with a 3 point par on the last.
26 points each actually flatters us both. To say we played poorly is an understatement.

If anyone's taking bets on who's coming last at Blackmoor, then a couple of quid on yours truly could be money well spent.........

I might have to run you close Ian. Played a m/w s/ford today and went blob , blob (stroke hole). 14 at the turn and another double on 10 , then 1 under for next 6 before a storming bogey, double bogey finish and a total of 30 points and another 0.1

Inexorably moving back towards 5 when I was 3.0 a couple of months ago

Dont worry SHW i'm absolutely definitely positive that I wont come last

Anyway after i've ripped Bearwood Lakes apart i'll be in great form for the pitch and putt at Blackmoor

I can just beat that with 20 points in the last monthly stableford. Five putting the last for the second time this year didn't help, and I am supposed to know the greens.
