Well you'll all hear about the bombers on the bet that had it out there to 300 yards/metres but once you know your driver swing speed (roughly) at least this chart may give you approximated distances that you can work off of. I'm in the 100mph column and it's fair to say all those distances are very accurate to how far I carry my clubs. Bear in mind now as well though that the loft column equates to my club lofts as well. I have weaker lofter irons.

Never know. Someone my get some help from it..

Don't forget as well that the iron lofts in the far left column are for the more traditional lofts. Not the jacket up one's of today with 44 and 43 degree PW'.

Had a lesson last night and my top ball speed was around 90 with a 6 iron but started the lesson around 80. Those numbers are interesting once you get to know what they mean.

That's OK if you know your swing speed. Unfortunately I live in an area where there isn't such a machine that measures it for about 100 miles.

I obviously swing my irons a lot quicker than my Driver....

Not necessarily Smiff.
If your hitting your irons longer then it might be due to the stronger lofts.
Would the 110mph column be closer to your iron distances than the 100 with the exception of the driver and woods.
If so it's because of the New Iron lofts. Even if it's in between the two that would still account for it.

Doesn't really matter Pal. Just take a 7 iron and hit 10 balls and take an average and compare it to the chart. Then just work off that column for the rest..

Do you live on the outer Hebrides ?

I expect there will be someone with a set up to measure your swing speed within a lot closer than 100 miles.

Also does your club pro not fit clubs ?

That is really accurate & equates pretty much to what I hit with driver speed of around 100-104mph. I've forwarded to my mate who reckons he hits his 8-iron 160 yards & bases every other iron on that distance (think he managed that once from a flying lie in Portugal in June rest of the time he hits it 140-150 like the rest of us).

Which is what I just did and worked out my swing speed as 100mph and the distances are pretty much spot on.
