Hi all.
I had a moan last week on here about me hitting low hooks with hybrids.
I have struggled for ages with this fault, it's was strange really, as I have been playing quite well lately, hitting the driver & 3 wood really well & straight.

I occasionally hooked an iron, but the hybrids were awful, in the end, I was frightened to use one knowing what the outcome would be.

I have tried everything, altering the ball position, stance width, foot position ect.
then today I suddenly managed to suss out what the problem was, although I had been standing parallel with my feet, my shoulders were pointing way left of the target.
as soon as I took a bit more care with my allignment, my hybrid shots were transformed.
Not sure why this seemed to effect the hybrids more than any other club (maybe because they are more offset?) but I am really happy that I seem to have sorted it out as it was driving me nuts.

I would imagine you have two small ish problems the first will be your usual hook which is possible something very simple like your right elbow moving away from your body on your downswing and the other will be you now expecting a rubbish hook with your hybrids are slowing down your rotation and essential quitting on the shot and letting the hands take over the body.

Maybe it is as simple as the hybrid you have?..What is it, loft, shaft etc??

You couldn't run this thread in the US without changing the name.

My son has the opposite fault with his driver. Points his left shoulder 45 degrees right of the target and slices. If he aligns correctly it goes straight. He thinks he is set up correctly, your mind plays tricks with you. Tricky to resolve. I can sort him when we are playing socially but it is tricky in a competition. I go all Marcel Marceau.

Check out Rick shiels YouTube channel . He has just put 6 instruction vids on, 3 on how not to hit left, and 3 on how not to hit right. I like his instruction. Easy to understand and not overly technical.
