Honda CRV

They look a nice motor and Honda's are known to be reliable but that's as far as my opinion on them goes. :D

I'm sure Bluewolf drives one but if he changes his cars like he does his golf gear it'll be a distant memory

Thought he only changed it when it ran out of fuel.

One of our managers is on his 3rd or 4th one. Think his has a bigger engine tho...

Missis T was going to buy one of these for her works car. Honda however wanted to offer us a stupid px price on our car. We told them they were being stoopid and there stoopidness was costing them a deal. Eventually we bought a Mazde CX-7. It is the best car we have owned. Ironically a couple of days after we had bought the Mazda we were invited back to Honda as they had revised there px offer to more or less what we wanted.
I took great delight in telling them to get lost and if they had not been stoopid they would of had a deal.
The CRV are nice cars, try a couple of differant cars though.

Funny that they have offered me a daft price for mine, simply put if the deal aint right I aint buying

I (still) drive the 2.2 diesel version and I really like it. Very comfortable ride and gets over 42mpg quite easily. The boot is plenty big enough, but has a rather silly double parcel shelf arrangement (that you can easily take out).

All in all, I've no plans to get rid of it. It drives more like a car. The "intelligent" 4 wheel drive is ok, but I'd still prefer the option of manually selecting it. I'm not sure how economical the 1.6 petrol version will be, and I'm not sure how much pull it will have. But it's s reliable piece of kit.

We had one that was a great car, Hondas are very well made and their agents tend to be first class. We had it for 11 years and it was still pretty bullet proof.

Odd that you should mention the double parcel shelf, that was one of the strong points that Missis T liked that would of helped her with work gear.

That's kind of what i'm looking for now had my Audi 9 years car before that was 10 years.

Trouble is as i'm like this I tend to be a bit clueless on what about but I have been looking for about two months so managing to narrow the search

My worry would be that is a small engine for such a big car. Economy won't be that great as the engine will have to work extra hard to move the car along. It could also be a little wearing as the car will be noisier due to the extra effort involved. Hear speaks someone who has driven two cars, not Honda, with similar engines. I would not get another.
If you only drive in Norfolk then you may be okay, otherwise be very sure before you buy.

The current trend is smaller but higher output engines, all in the vain aim of beating the Euro emiisions farce.

I'm giving serious consideration to a petrol Civic next time, to replace my ageing, ultra reliable and very cheap to run Skoda Superb.

Had one since new in July 2014 and now done 28,000 miles. Averaging 52 mpg all types of motoring.

Absolutely no problems and the new 1.6 diesel engine reflects the new technology with good performance and does not seem to ever struggle even when regularly in the Peak District.

Quiet and comfortable, overall a really nice motor.

Seems to be a Honda trait; they offered us £2.5k for Mrs. BiM's old Jazz against a new one, a car they had supplied & which had a full service history with them, Ford offered £3.25 against their ex-demonstrator Fiesta, no contest. Curiously enough Honda came sniffing round enquiring if they could persuade us to buy a new Jazz with a better PX, only to be told they were too late.

Can you still order new Hondas with prescription windscreens? :D
