For those of a nervous disposition please stop now.

After all those posts about it being so close I finally put together a decent round. 4 ball better ball with Hawkeye and I played really well and hit it great. Granted I lost 2 balls and didn't contribute (one a mystery that only just missed a green and the other going for a glory shot late on) but other than that 16 of the most consistent holes I've played in a very long time.

Got a short game lesson on Wednesday and once that area gets up to scratch I am finally going to be back in the game. We did well as a team going out in 22 but struggling back in 15 for 37 points. 44 off 3/4 handicap (a guy playing off 14 - usually 19 and a guy off 9 - usually 12) walked it which in the conditions was impressive. Still for once I am a very happy man

Glad i was sitting down to read that, good to hear Homer. Keep the positivity going and enjoy it!

Maybe even an apology to Tim 'I am a massive tool' Golfy?

Why. He has come on here claiming 300 plus yards is the way forward and I disagree, particularly as until recently every post was the same tune. It seems he has changed that now and is looking forward to getting onto a course. Once he does and plays well I'll say well done like I do to all those that have a PB, win something or get a cut.

At the end of the day, today was a good day for me golfing wise and vindication that my efforts are starting to bear fruit and that is good enough for me

Well done Homer, nice to read a post where your positive.Good luck on the short game,as we all know its the way to get lower quickly, too many shots are thrown away close in.

Good to hear Homer. We're both practise-aholics and it's nice to read that your hard work is starting to pay off. I've got a playing lesson booked with my pro because we're both certain that I should be playing to a significantly lower handicap than my present one.

I struggle to compute playing well with two lost balls, and don't really consider anything less than 40 points to be playing well either.

But, if you were happy with your golf (which is the main thing), well done, hope it continues for the season.

One disappeared from just off the edge of a par 3 and was a bit of a mystery as there wasn't any rough of any note and so where it went is unclear. The other was going for a glory shot that had a 4 in 10 chance at best of coming off. For the other 16 holes it was very good scoring and the ball striking, especially the drives, was as good as it has been for ages.

if you walk off the course with a smile its all good. not diggin you out homer but generally some of your talk about your own golf is very negative, almost as if you find it work and do not enjoy playing. its nice to hear your having a good one and you can actually smile now and then ;)

PS cheer up you miserable sod it may make ya scores better :D ;)
