Thank you m'lud. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury. It is an elaborate case and as I offer my closing statement for the prosecution I urge the jury to look beyond the gentile facade of this criminal mastermind. This is a cold and calculating individual that has painstakingly covered his criminal tracks with the most underhanded and nefarious deeds. The accused stands on trial for banditry a heinous, despicable and deplorable crime. He has woven tale after fabricated tale to cover his tracks, a meticulously crafted cover story to mask his devious intentions. His 'victory' at Forest of Arden made possible by his calculated accumulation of several 0.1s over a period of several months.

This intentional decline enabled the defendant to reach a 13 handicap and thus triumph over other competitors. Need I remind the court that this individual, who repeatedly pleaded golfing incompetence, somehow managed to cobble together two 'miraculous' performances when it mattered most. Once you may say is fortuitous, twice somewhat dubious.

The defendant has clearly spent some time masking his proficiency by incorporating some bizarre movements into his swing, but this ladies and gentleman is just another mark of his criminal genius! There can be only one judgement in this case. You have heard the harrowing testimony of 'Tony' who has been left mentally and emotionally scarred by his experiences at the hand of Homer. Bordering suicidal was the opinion of our medical expert. Please let no further harm be done and convict this man of his crimes against golf. I rest my case.

PS bloody well played Martin and congratulations. Rich reward for a tough year.

Guilty as charged.
A 5 year ban from all forum meets, and Gm organised comps.
About time someone noticed this persons repeatable cries for help, only for said
person to rise from the flames like a pheonix.
Sorry Homer, yes im still mentally scared, however i was nearly over it until it has been brought
up again.
Putting you away for 5 years is the only way.I will visit i promise.

Just to add fuel to the prosecution's case, I believe the aforementioned Homer also did reasonably well at Blackmoor in the Summer after claiming his game was in tatters......

I was looking to call several character witnesses in the form of Hawkeye, Smiffy and Sundance but sadly they seemed to have been paid off by the prosecution. What can I say? Those that have played with me will know on my day it can be good but an off day really is an off day. Hawkeye was the last man to see me before the alleged offence and he should be able to testify (remember I swear to the the whole truth Mike) that my driving in particular on Tuesday was erratic at best and bore no resemblance to the quality I showed yesterday. I think my playing partners at the FoA will agree that the short game was scratchy at best especially as the pressure grew towards the end and the putter was in and out. I did course manage brilliantly though and was hardly in any trouble all day. My predicition for the roll up tomorrow - 28 points

I was just saying to Murph the other day that you were a shoe-in to win this!

Your sentance?........ English Captain at Goswick next year. Surely nothing worse could happen to you?

Well done, Homey.

I'd like to defend you Homer I really would - but I love a good stoning :D

Plus I did post on Tuesday that your recent form meant there was no reason you couldn't go and win. You're better than 13, you just have to believe it (and sort out your short game)

Great thread chaps and well done Homer for getting your game together when it matters most - still guilty as a puppy sitting next to a pile of poo though - send him down for banditry in the first!!
