Hi all just let you know I have decided to make a temporary home made putting mat.

Any opinions or suggestions would be welcomed...

Thank you

P.s. anyone got any idea how I can get the balls to drop and return to me?

Buy a puttout to stick at the end. Just ordered mine, meant to be a great training aid, will be using mine alongside my putting mat.

I'm considering (when spring comes in) to make a wee putting green in the back garden, keep the grass a good length and carve out a few holes. Can't do much harm!

Very hard to get anything even resembling a temporary green in your own garden. Doesnt matter how short you cut the grass, it just doesnt work.

I built this a couple of years ago using old pallets, loft boarding and some artifical putting grass

I use green astroturf 2 m x 1 m sheets brought from lidle for about £ 6 each

With a plank with mouse holes starting about the size of a hole getting smaller to about half an inch larger than a ball - works for me - cold in my garage at the moment though

Keep records on how I do to keep it interesting and give me a challange

That looks great. What covering did you use?

I bought artifical putting surface from ebay - a company that supplies outdoor putting facilities. Wasn't too expensive, it's not perfect. but supposedly 10+ on the stimp metre. 2m x 2m and good for practicing 8 footers. Putting has improved dramatically as a result of using it

I've just bought some samples to do the same. What thickness was the stuff you bought? I've ordered 7mm and 15mm both allegedly suitable for putting surfaces.

That looks great that mate!!

Has anyone here put an artificial putting green in the garden? Im thinking of getting
the back garden done and contemplating getting a little putting green alongside.

As per others, to get something in your garden with real grass to be anything close to a proper green is a heck of a lot of work... i would go astro turf, even outside.
