Just back from 4 days in Eftelling in Holland.
It’s a cross between centre parcs and Euro Disney.
We really enjoyed it as a family of four, I’d highly recommend it if you’ve got kids, there’s something for everyone.
Looking forward to booking our next holiday, but lacking inspiration, it seems more difficult with an 8 year gap between our boys.
Where is everyone else off to this year ☀️☀️☀️

Having had a forced extra 10 day stay to our holiday to Abu Dhabi, our break in Agadir came round a bit too quickly and wasn’t our cup of tea. So we’re going to Costa Navarino in Greece for some golf and r&r in early September - we’ve heard good things about the resort.

We’ve just got back from 4 fantastic days in Rome. Now we’re looking to go somewhere late Sept/Early Oct. Mrs Wants Cape Verde again but the hotel isn’t reopening until late November after refurb, I quite fancy Mauritius but she’s not sure. So basically we’ll go where she wants 😂

My wife won’t fly.
Despite me trying for years to get her on a plane.
So we now have lots of short breaks in the UK.
I’m not at all jealous of all you guys flying off to these exotic locations but I really hope it pours with rain for your entire holiday, you all get diarrhoea and your other half sleeps with the waiter. 😂

I doubt we will return to Boa Vista
The Toureg wont have adults only any more once done, and I dont want to be next to the airport.
Adults only really doesn’t bother me in the slightest we didn’t donut last time and loved it. Plus with the possibly of a wee one joining us next year gives even more reason to not bother with Adults only. But I’m really interested in Sal.

Some of our best holidays have been jumping into the car after work on a Friday, getting an overnight ferry to St.Malo or Roscoff, grabbing a coffee and a pain au raisin in a boulangerie the next morning before spending a week or so exploring France.
Not flying doesn’t preclude some great holidays with interesting sights and culture, tasty food and exceptional good value golf.

What about the Ferry or Le Shuttle could have so nice little trips still in the hope to palm Your wife off to a waiter like the rest of us 😂

She won’t get on a boat either 😂.
We have done the train over to France a couple of times.
She loves the Dorset, Devon Cornwall area so now we normally head that way.

I have taken the kids away on foreign holidays when they were younger.

I keep getting close to convincing her to go to Lisbon but she always backs out last minute.

Go back again 🤣. We’ve been there 4 times and counting now - the mini squirrels loved it as young kids and still love it as teenagers. If I suggest they’re now too old to want to go back this is met with a storm of protest! I’m guessing from the description you stayed at Bosrijk village or similar which i think is great. We took 3 generations of family last time (including various cousins and grandparents literally ages 2 to 80 in a house for 12) and there was enough to keep everyone happy - so it’s great for anyone with a wide age range to cater for. Unlike Centerparcs there’s no attempt to trap you on site by hiding your car miles away, and there’s lots to do in the local area too.

In terms of pricing, ferry across from Hull (so 2 nights on that ) then 4 nights at the village is still cheaper than 4 nights at centerparcs, despite the accommodation being much better quality, and having access to probably Europe’s best theme park (it’s a lot nicer and less tacky than Disney) included in that price!

We’re off to Sicily in August. Booked a lovely villa with a pool near Taormina. First week just me and Mrs BB, and then we’re being joined for the second by the kids and their other halves.
Taormina is gorgeous, hired a lovely little fiat 500 when we stayed in Catania. Drove down to Syracuse etc and up to Taormina and around Etna. Just loved it. Bought a lovely flat cap in Taormina. 😆

Golf in Mauritius is brilliant 😉
