Ok lads help me out! HID and I are planning a break away in august, with a budget of about £500 each and hoping for all Inc.

At the moment Tunisia is top of the bill as neither of us have been there yet.

A) I know it's close to libia, is that situation with the fighting calmed down yet?

Any feedback or suggestions on other destinations we may not have thought about,

Cheers

Tunisia = gr8 weather. Shite food, arrogant wanks and rank beer. You will also be plagued to buy a leather jacket or chamois lol

Best avoided if you dont do sitting by the pool on a daily basis.

Try Cyprus, you wont be dissapointed there.

book last minute deal a week or two before you go / prob you have is it is during the school holidays , so everywhere is dearer

I'm trying to convince her to go latte minute to domincan rep but she wants it booked :(

D.R. is OK if you have a cast-iron constitution and don't mind a long flight.

Canary Islands?

Tunisia is an utter sh*tehole, would never go back. Only thing going for it is the weather. If you're sun worshippers who dont mind really, really crap food then your laughing!!

Remember a weeks holiday up in Arisaig when i was 16. Think thats the campsite you can see on one of the photos on the banner for the hotel...
Special Brew. P'ing off a local on crutches with our 'epileptic' dancing at the local 'disco'. Dutch girls with there lady bags out on the beach. And being pictured with a conquest like i was holding a fish i caught.... Good memories. ;)

Here's a couple of websites that offer really cheap holidays compared to the "norm"...

We've used the first company before, not used the second but a good mate of mine has and he says they are fantastic, books all of his holidays up through them.

Wife and I managed to get 11 nights in Crete a couple of years ago, all inclusive for just over £500.00 each. Cracking value. Couldn't have a week in Blackpool for that!!
Hotel was good. Food wasn't brilliant, but I'm a fussy bugger. My two 14 year old boys would have been happy though, they will eat anything.
Crete was "ok" but we much preferred Kos. Smaller and not so commercialised.
I went to Tunisia many years ago. Unless it has changed dramatically over the years (and it doesn't sound like it has) I wouldn't rush to go back there.
Dirty place, drinks cost an absolute fortune. Beaches were nice but at the age I was at the time I wasn't really interested in beaches, just drinking and partying (told you it was a long time ago). I hated it.

What ages are you Oddsocks? You can get All-Inc deals in Ibiza/Lanzarote no bother.

Failing that, if it's ripping heat the lady wants, it's ripping heat you'll have to provide. Don't rule out Dubai, although flights alone might be a touch expensive from the UK.

Why don't you get in touch with Virgin or another provider and see what sort of deals they can offer you. Just give them your budget, explain what you want, let them provide.

Nothing like that post holiday trip to the clinic, they were the days.

I'd recommend a week in this hotel >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Cracking hotel

Yes I know it's Benidorm but there is sunshine, the food is first class, and the beer is excellent - Cruzcampo. It's only a two hour flight and won't be far off your budget.

I booked through Onthebeach as Smiffy says and had no problem.

Self catering cottgae in Arisaig last week in September, outstanding silver sands, great sea food caught fresh locally, great eareries, wonderful 9 hole golf course, day trips to Isle of Skye, stunning location. Shame the Mrs is coming along to spoil it but I love it.

£300 for the week.

I'll second that. Probably had my best day ever on a golf course at Traigh. Low scoring and brilliant greens aren't everything. The views were to die for.
