I'm sure I'm not the only person who only ever picks up a book whilst on hols, and so I'm after any recommendations!

I enjoy reading autobiographical books, enjoyed Seve's but found Darren Clarke's to be a bit cliche (love the bloke though). I also enjoyed the one about the American caddy at St. Andrews.

Bravo two zero by Andy mcnab gets better with every read, and so anything similar to that as well.

Anyone got any decent others they've read?

Not a biography but I read Time and Time Again by Ben Elton on holiday. About trying to stop World War One. Lots of twists and a top holiday read

Bit different but Bernard Cornwell writes really good and easy to read historical fiction. V good for holidays.
Another option is the Jack Reacher books by Lee Childs. Really good reads, don't be put off by the awful Tom Cruise film.

The Jack Reacher series by Lee Child's.

I'll second that.

Okay, I'll third it then……… :D

Any one will do, it's not essential to follow them chronologically. I got hooked when my old guvnor walked in with a copy of Bad Luck & Trouble. He asked if I fancied it. I'm not a great reader but thought I'd give it a go. Picked it up with lunch, nearly 3 hours later I thought I'd better put it down again!

Well, then just keep reading that book :D

I haven't read it, but I have read all of the McNab books in the Nick Stone Series. 17 so far, 18 coming out in a week. Not the best series of that kind, but I am OK with it.

What I find funny is that some of the similar authors do reference him a little. Characters talking about "real soldiering and not what you read in the McNab books".

Reacher got already mentioned. As a character I also like Mitch Rapp, Spider Shepherd, Pike Logan. But then, they are series books, so not necessarily suitable if you want on for the holidays.

Fist of God, Forsythe.
One of the best books I've ever read.
Jason Bourne series is also good, much better than the film's.
