I loved that hole. Real sqeaky bum time for your first shot of the day.

Holy Cow!!!

I'd love to play the 11th,12th,13th and 15th at Augusta - just to see if they really are as hard as the pros make out!

And someday I will play the Road Hole and the 17th at Wentworth West.

The seventh and eighteenth at Pebble Beach. I'm gutted that I've stood by the tee on the 7th and green on the 18th but not played them.

The reward for a good drive at the 1st at Machrihanish is to be able to brag that you drove the ball over the Atlantic Ocean !

Played there several years back and went to the turn in +3 thinking that I had suddenly cracked this game. Came back in about +20 as the fierce west wind took it's toll.

You are absolutely right. I was a lot younger then. I have grown and learned, such that when we went away for her 40th to Portugal, my golf clubs were in the luggage...

For the person who asked about how many people NR before the 2nd hole at Machrihanish, I would imagine very few as the beach is not OB, you can play off of it.

I've played the 17th at Wentworth off the pro tees and to be fair it isn't that tough a hole. I think Amen Corner for me as an oasis of tranquility before I go.
