Hole in one - help

I RECENTLY ACHIEVED A HOLE IN ONE AT MY GOLFCLUB.IT WAS A THREEBALL CLUB COMP ON NORMAL GREENS BUT TEEING OFF FROM A WINTER TEE I.E. A MATT.AS WE WENT ON PLAYING GOLF EVERYONE CONGRATULATED ME SHAKING MY HAND, PATTING ME ON THE BACK, I BOUGHT THE DRINKS AT THE CLUB HOUSE AS YOU DO,EVEN GETTING CONGRATULATED BY A COMMITTEE MEMBER. TO BE TOLD THE NEXT TIME I WENT TO THE GOLF CLUB THAT IT DIDN'T COUNT AS I TEED OFF FROM A MATT AND THE COMMITTEE DIDN'T RECOGNISE A HOLE IN ONE FROM A MATT.AT AN 8000 TO 1 CHANCE AND MY FIRST HOLE IN ONE IN TEN YEARS I FIND THIS VERY FRUSTRATING. CAN ANYONE TELL ME IS THIS THE NORM,ANY ADVICE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

congratulations on the ace! Never had one myself but I live in hope!

To my mind your ace should stand as surely a hole in one is a hole in one especially as it was a comp and you were playing from the stipulated tees for that competition

Trev that sounds extremely unfair - should definitely count - you were playing under tournament conditions and you had to buy the drinks!!!

I agree-competition, normal greens, it should count. Did the matt change the hole much or was it around the normal tee? I think you should feel hard done by.

Winter conditions are the same for everyone so it is a level playing field

My experience of mats makes me think that your ace was all the more creditable. I think it was an ace-plus.

The committee at your club stink! If they can show you their ruling within the local rules then fine their rule stands, otherwise wherever the competition advised you to tee off from then this is deemed to be the official competition tee!!! Oh and the committee at your club stink!!!!!

Could I just hazard a little guess that the vast majority of the committee at your club have never managed a hole-in-one and that there could just be the teeniest hint of petty jealousy at play here??

Id still be holding my head high knowing I got an ace, regardless of what a snooty committee member felt.
