So ever since I can remember on this forum there has been a stigma around a 7w. every thing between sexist slurs through to agist digs, a 7wood has never been cool.

So I'm sitting here watching a live feed from the Irish comp going on and Matt Fitzpatrick fizzes a nice ball in when the commentator ask what he just hit " a nice easy 7 wood " !!!!!!

Obviously Matt either

1- doesn't read the forum
2- uses his wife's clubs
3- is borrowing his grandads clubs
4- a mix of all the above!

Well he could be playing with clubs out the second hand bin considering the trouble he's had with his own. Airline lost them apparently.

Not sure val, my 5w is 19* so I would assume 21-22*. Irrespective of loft.. a bloody 7w!

I suppose in hind sight it would be aimed towards a 3i or 18* sort of club, apparently 235-245 yards

That yardage is a driver ffs, except for us with forum distance 5 irons of course ;)

Absolutely love my Ping G 7 wood, 20.5 degrees with the loft adjusted up to 21.5 to be a better fit between my 5 hybrid and my 5 wood. Just couldn't get on with the 4 hybrid. One hit with the 7 wood and it was YES PLEASE!

One in my bag for years for use on our 9 hole course. Easier to hit than a 5 wood and superb from the deep rough. Longer off the tee than any of my hybrids about 200 yards with really good drop and stop . I get 200 from a 19 hybrid but a lot of that is roll.

I'm on the look out for a 7w wood, 2nd hand and im left handed so not much choice especially in stiff shaft, most seem to senior flex! lol
Seriously though Ive never got on with hybrids, I love my 5w as it goes 200-230 on a good day,my next club is a 5i which is a big gap so 7w would fill the gap nicely.

Ive played with a forum member recently what has a little 7 wood in his bag and he hits it well to be honest. I call it his little ladies club haha

Can't remember who it was.............

Or yeah!!!
Moogie!!!!!

I'm sick of telling you
The kind fellas at Taylormade call it a 5HL:ears:

2016 TM M2
Cracking club 👍

I am so glad that I am a woman and can hit any club that I like and that suits my game without being ridiculed for it. :ears: Love my 7 wood. It is a very satisfying club to hit.

I was looking for a titleist 7 wood but are hard to come by. Ended up getting a 24 and 27 degree hybrid.

Best move I've ever made.

I've had a Callaway X 7 in my bag for years now. It's served me really well, and when under pressure on our 17th Par 3 180 yards into the wind, it's done the biz so many times.

Of course I was recently a member of the Team Farts at Forest Pines. So...
