if anyone needs a sport fix during this lull and has BT , they are currently showing the Hockey World Cup which is being hosted in England

Its pretty much a sell out and all the matches have great atmosphere and its a great chance to watch some of the best sportswomen in the UK and also the World

2 Draws for the girls, time to up their game

Well the English girls ended up facing the Dutch who are head and shoulders above anyone else and despite putting up a battle the Dutch girls ability shone through , it’s a bit of a transition for the girls with a lot of young ones coming through and the Gold Medal Girls moving

But the amazing news is the Irish Girls - none of them are full time athletes, they all have full time jobs - so whilst they get their accommodations and travel paid for everything else they need to pay themselves so for them to get to the Final is just amazing , it’s got to be one of the finest team performances for any sport in Ireland - it’s like a team like Andorra reaching the WC finals
