struggling with the 3 wood atm, its the HL 17 degree version. Barely use it tbh.

I dont use it off the tee either as hitting my driver great and no par 4's require a lay up tee shot.

I am absolutely nutting my hybrids approx 190-200 with the 5 and 210+ with the 4 (obviously thats with a good crisp strike and off 22 theres a few duffs here and there but not many) and am thinking of getting the RBZ stage 2 3hybrid (19 degree I think).

decisions, decisions

Off those distances it would be like for like so if it gives you the confidence to hit it and gets you 225+ then go for it few about but not cheap, i have picked up a stage 2 hybrid awesome-ier bit of hardware!

I think it is a confidence thing tbh, I feel and have been able to shape the hybrids a bit but the 3w off the deck just aint doing it. its not the club its me but anything to make life a tad easier

TBH for me it's a confidence thing for me, I hit my 4 iron very well and straight buy my 5 wood is a bit errant and my 3 hybrid is not as long as my 4 iron but I am so much more confident with it over the other two choices

might give the range a blast and see if I can get a bit of confidence with the 3w 1st, might just be something little, stage 2's are 119 quid still so an expensive experiment lol.

Funny that............http://forums.golf-monthly.co.uk/showthread.php?55269-Shaft-length-on-hybrids-any-limit

Do you really need another one ?

I have a 21 and 18 deg hybrid. and to be honest, I'm only using the 18 every now and then when I really need to keep it low and chase along. I don't think I have the striking ability to notice much difference if I added another of any loft, and I play off about 12 on a good day.

Don't have a 3 wood either. I suppose it depends on the course, but high (or even mid) cappers using a 3 wood to try and get up to long par 4s or shortish par 5s in two shots always seems like a triumph of hope over expectation to me. I think even if I had a three wood or low lofted hybrid I would only use it once or twice a round, and hitting one or two every 4 hours I'm not sure there's even a 50/50 of making a decent contact. I would reckon to get a couple of 7 irons a whole lot closer...

Everyone is different tho. I have played with some people about the same standard as me who play fairway woods or low lofted hibrids well. Exception rather than the rule though.

You could just get another wedge ifyou must have 14 clubs! (sorry bob)

I barely use my 3 wood and have recently dropped the driver, best golf I've played in a little while. Problem will come when temptation rises its head and I pull the big sticks out again.

I have been tempted with a 5 hybrid though and am keeping an eye out for a deal

So...you hit a hybrid roughly 185 yards. I'm assuming your drives are 225yards...totaling 410yards. How long are your par 4's?

How about you just crack on and enjoy playing if you're to the edge of a par four, practice chipping and your on to a par putt every hole.

I have done something similar, hit my 3 wood once at the weekend and made a mess of it,would have been better laying up with the 4 iron or hybrid.COurse I play does not call for it really so dropped it in favour of the 3 hybrid and my refurbed 5 wood.

see i have this problem with my 4 iron , cant hit it, want to replace it with a hybrid but every know and then i hit a shot of breal beauty which keeps me thinking , why change
