off of a tee more like a wood, off the deck more like an iron. It also depends what sort of height I want from the shot, a steeper swing gives a higher ball flight so if it is windy I would most probably try and sweep it off the ground and it would stay a lot lower for me. I think for the average hybrid shot though I would be a little bit more 'wood like' than with my irons.
I've never considered it. I peg it up off the tee and just get the right ball position and swing away. From the fairway I'll play it as a long iron and try and sweep it without a divot. If I'm in the rough and it is sitting down I'll hot down a bit to get it out but other than that just put a normal swing on it
I'm going with eagle on this......and everything I have read suggests you should play it off the grass as a long iron.
I have more trouble with this club than any other....I think it is really important to choose the method which suits you best.....certainly, it should be a smidge back from the place for a 5 wood, say.
Hit it like an iron.
My pro saw me hit a hybrid and immediately told me I was hitting it like a wood and it is an iron figuratively speaking with a broad base to assist with the shot
depends on the hybrid itself, if it one with quite a bit of offset it is supposed to be hit like a iron cleveland halo etc. or if its set up more like a fairway wood like a ping g10 it should be a little more sweepy
always hit it as you would hit the club its replacing. I haven't got one but have tried plenty of them out. a lot of people think as it looks a bit like a wood it must be used like one. i find them very easy to hit and they are a good idea especially out of rough but I haven't found one yet that gives me the playability I have with my 5 wood that Ive had for a lot of years.
