Has anyone played either of the above courses and if so what are they like?

After the cancellation of my weekend in Scotland my mate and I have decided to play a few courses a touch closer to home (Goswick too but I've played that before so know it's good).

I look forward to your replies of nothing but good things (I hope)

Richy,

Let me know when you're coming to Goswick as i'm going to try getting a couple games over the next week and could sign you on if i'm free then, if you don't mind going off the back tees and helping me find my ball every so often..........

Have played The Hirsel a few times and it is a lovely course and always in great condition, definately a must play course if you are in the area.

I'm playing there on Saturday. Are you based there Charlie?

Re: Hirsel GC & Alnmouth GC

Never played Alnmouth but heard its worth a visit.

Goswicks always good but you'll probably already know that if you've been before!! Its particularly taking shape now as its Open Qualifying just a week or so away (20th June). Greens hadn't quite been their amazing self about a month ago (still pretty good) but seemingly that was due to a problem with the water system.

Hirsel's a great little course - real good fun, always enjoy a day over there on a summers day. Played there a couple of weeks ago and the greens were very nice. You'll be assured a warm welcome by the the folks over there. As the big man says Dodger is the man in the know...

I'm in the shop from half 9 till half 2 then away to another course to teach till 6pm. If you're there around lunchtime, we have a Callaway Demo Day on. The greens are in great condition at the moment, the rain last couple days has helped a bit and i enjoyed playing on them this morning.

Dodger is indeed the man to ask as he is down there this evening playing a cup game.....although he will only be able to tell you about the first 12 holes. :o

Charlie....you should have a knock off the ladies tees to remind yourself what a 73 round Goswick feels like.
Your draw for the open qualifier aint done you any favours so them swing changes will need to come good or your shooting in the 80s again.

Hirsel? Well what can you say? Great track that is in fantastic nick and is a really well run club.Great Pro,friendly welcome, good looking staff....I can't say enough about this wee gem, forget your Goswicks!

Foxton? In great condition, the front 9 is a great set of holes but it loses it's way a bit on the back 9 but all in all a place always worth playing.

12 holes?! Gave the *** 4 in his hand than started to play but he was on fire,I was 5 over after 4 and 5 over after 12....poosiled like the rest of them......great pint of Belhaven Birdie though!
