Hiring convertible cars

The missus fancies us hiring a convertible car when we go to Spain later this summer. Anyone done it? I've spent ages browsing the web and haven't yet found any opportunity to book a soft top? You just keep getting directed to the usual sort of hire. Anyone know any companies that hire convertibles?

Be aware that hiring a convertible in the middle of summer means you won't have the aircon on. Done it once, wouldn't do it again unless it was out of season.

Been trying that all afternoon - just keep going round in circles with everything except convertibles coming up. Even with URLs that suggest specific sites for convertibles. I can have as many Pandas, Astras, 500s, etc as i like. But cant find a soft top?

SIXT. I had the choice of either a BMW 4 series or a peugeot 206. Drivilia also do soft tops.

Put factor 50 on your face and arms if you get one 😀. I have a friend who went bright red after his first sunny trip in a soft top. He never made that mistake again, ha ha.

Sounds nice sitting here in the the cold British spring, but the reality would be blazing hot sun shining on your bonces, burnt faces, headaches etc etc.

I have classic open top car which doesn't have a hood and when in Le Mans during the summer I'm always grateful when I'm in the shade especially in built up areas.

Apart from the fact that they don’t seem to do soft tops, why not? We used them before & they were fine.

Am surprised at the number of "don't bother" comments that folk have posted. We've had one before and loved it. Just that on that occasion we were offered it as an upgrade at pick-up (due to a cancellation) and we got it at a knock down price. So now trying to find how much they are by booking direct?
