The big day is almost here. Tomorrow our son get married to his fiancee......of 17 years. Why bother now who knows? But they are. So all suits were collected last Saturday with a few ( a lot) of snags, one being that my youngest sons trousers didn't fit, so a replacement pair was ordered, collected on Tuesday and brought round Wednesday. They were tried on yesterday afternoon as an after thought. Well the bride was round so I thought he'd better just check they were ok. They weren't. They are exactly the same. She was straight on the phone and a new pair are to be delivered on Saturday morning, the day of the wedding, between 7 and 9am.
Hopefully this will be the only thing that goes wrong.

Aye, there's a lot to be said about wearing a kilt to a wedding. Plenty of adjustment round the waist and length isn't as critical as trews.

We picked up the same items from two different shops from the same chain.

Turned out to be very slightly different colours, only slightly but it was funny. Couldn't notice in the photos but easily seen on the day, side by side.

Wasn't the main suit, just the red bits.

Still don't see the point in weddings other than it was a fun day and a great family gathering. No quarrels in our close family group, despite there being 20+ all having lived in the same town.

I can see how it could be a chore of a day though, then whats the point?

They're having the do at my golf club. Should I sneak off for a quick nine ?

I was at a wedding in April on the Sunday of the Masters. I sneaked out to watch some of the last round as it was being held at a country club and I went to the golf club lounge. I can confirm that this did not go down well with the bride, friend of my wifes but not a big deal to me. I suspect actively playing may be followed up the insertion of certain clubs in places they were not designed for :D. Best to write off the golf that day.

Suits for a wedding? Whatever next!! What's wrong with football shirts and baseball caps?

For the weddings of both my son and daughter we bought the 'main men' of the day a suit each from M&S, saved us money, all the suits fitted as opposed to making us look like penguins in the hire shop and we all got to keep them.
