Hello, looking for a driver around the £100 price point. I have read advice about try before you buy, which ever club you hit the best etc but on looks, quality and reviews would this forum recommend the Hippo Hex or the Bensayers Benny?

I am relatively new to golf; hit a mean 3 fairway wood off the tee but want to progress to a driver. I do however have a tendency to slice sometimes.

Hi
I had a Benny til recently, I thought it was a great club !!!!
Now have a Ping G10 which is the Mutts Nutts!!!

You will have to learn to deal with your slice though if you buy a Benny.
My club is for sale at the Pro shop Sth Winchester at about £75.

I would go for the Benny if it was me but its not so... the Hex is much more forgiving and likely to give you more consistent fairway results however it seems to seriously lack distance even when struck out of the sweet spot. The benny on the other hand whilst being less forgiving is a miles better club in terms of the shaft (in my opinion) and the head itself which is going to give you everything you could want at that price range except perhaps the extra forgiveness the strange shaped drivers claim to offer.

For my money it is the Benny all the way but try both and the decision has to be yours.

I have tried them both and have owned a Hex. The Hex is forgiving but as everyone has said, it does not go that far and was actually comparable in distance to a well struck 3 wood.

I liked the Benny alot but would put it third in my choices at that price range. I actually bought a Benross VeloCT and that is very forgiving and goes a very long way (further than the Nike Sumo SQ it replaced) but also really liked the MD EQL with the Graffalloy ProLaunch Blue shaft.
