One of my playing partners had his done mid November, and he played his first game last Saturday. Was told he could have played earlier, but the weather was not that inspiring.

I had a hip resurface in October 2009, so just over a year ago. I had the right hip done and I am right handed, so I reckoned that as the weight comes off the hip during the through swing it wouldnt be too violent on the right side. I walked the course without playing after about 12 days post op, and actually played 9 holes after 2 weeks and 1 day.
I took it really easy and the swing wasn't great but I did play out every hole and I did, of course, use an electric trolley. At about 3 weeks I was able to play a winter league matches and havn't looked back since
Sadly, the left hip will need doing soon and I think it will mean about 12 weeks off because the finish position could possibly ping the hip joint out.
