If you could hand pick a chairman, I reckon in the modern game these are the factors that would influence your decision.

1, Money, in the bucket loads.
2, Heart. They have to love who you are
3, Desire and commitment. gotta be in it for the long haul and take the ups with the downs.
4, Class. bonus not a necessity.

To me, in 3 of the 4 points Evertons Bill Kenwright is top of the list. If only he had the money to make the blues competitive...

huge respect for the man, well in!

I wouldn't change our Chairman for anything. I know he's taken some stick recently, and I'm not sure I agree with what he's currently doing, but the man is a Legend in my eyes and will forever be Mr Wigan..

The difference to me is is the two mentioned plus a few others were fans first and Chairmen second, they understand the history and traditions of the clubs, unfortunately they're a dying breed.
Much rather have them than the Hull/Cardiff or QPR chairman who at times have almost embarrassed there clubs.
Mind you I do have a soft spot for Abramovich, he at least with his money has got the success he sought, doesn't crave publicity and when at the matches he comes across as a fan.
There is some anger to Uncle Bill as some fans believe the reason we haven't been bought is because the price is too high, between 80-150 million banded about, that's just to buy the club, then the investment on top!

Another vote for Steve Gibson.

I'm an Everton man and whilst I appreciate Uncle Bill it does strike me as odd that we never get talked about in terms of sales. I know the ground is a major issue but his valuation of the club does seem to put people off. A club, or anything, is only worth what someone will pay and if they wont pay his valuation then it is a wrong one. Is he holding the club back because he wont let go?

I am a huge fan of any chairman who keeps his head down and face out of the papers. Any chairman who does it for the publicity, step forward Mr Fernandes at QPR, is not a chairman I would want at my club. The best chairmen are the ones you are barely aware of.
