Awesome photo.......brings back memories of my back seat Tornado flight when I left the RAF. We did a low level pass through the Yorkshire Dales as well as some high altitude aerobatics...awesome.....and yes, I was sick! :o

Had a flight down in the Falklands - nothing left in my stomach afterwards :D

Not so good when they zoom over your head at the top of your backswing when playing at Kington GC Herefordshire.

Normally apaches across here - you can see the longbow picking targets as it goes past very low

I'd be interested to know what camera and what lens he was using. Having seen similar in the gap between Suilven and Canisp in the far NW of Scotland I know that anything I caught on film was just a blur at the speeds they were going at through the gap.

He isn't just a hill walker, he is a plane spotter with some serious kit for photos, the pic was taken at the Mach loop and you just don't go hill walking there.

He sold the pic to the daily mail for a donation for a charity and the daily fail just manufactured the story to suit themselves.

That's cool - it's the pictures im impressed with

Who is "Hill Walker"?

Anyway great pics I just hope it didnt damage anybody's ears. Must have been super loud I would have thought.
YouTube the mach loop, they fly below you. A couple of my mates who are typhoon pilots fly through it a couple of times a week. Looks cracking but its miles from anywhere to get to.

Looks awesome on YouTube, some of it not that far away as they fly over main roads and the M6 for part of it.

Yeah, saw that. I'm not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination but I'd imagine you'd need some serious kit to take those kind of pictures!

Just a wee pet hate of mine...

Would you say Cat 1 golfers must have serious kit or that Jamie Oliver must have a serious oven to cook well, does Dan Brown need a serious word processor

Technique, experience and skill play a far bigger role in getting a shot like this... and some luck too :D

Remember going down to the Ashbury Manor in Devon and hearing this roar and seeing two planes swoop low and fast along the level of the valley and turn over the course. Epic sight but not great hearing their boom at the top of my backswing. Clearly no regard for golfing etiquette these pilots (or a mischeivious sense of humour!)
