I couldn't play Saturday in our Stableford and I just logged in now to see the results. In a way it's a good job I couldn't make it.

55 players in total , 19 with 36pts or better.😮

42 Pts won it, 4 others had 41, a few 40's and a number of 39's

Scores seem really high to me. Does this happen at your place?

Every week. We have over 200 members playing Saturday comps and quite often it's 45 points even more that wins. Even to win a division you often need at least 42.

Occasionally get a couple in the 40s but rarely more than that.
Most comps this year have seen CSS rise

With that many scores better than SSS it does make you wonder why CSS can only go down by 1....

in a word: No

Our last 3 comps...

stableford: 14 players had 35pts or better (Par 69, SSS 70). CSS was 70 on the Saturday and 72 on Sunday. 150+ players

Medal: 10 players had Nett 70 or better. CSS was 71. 150+ players

Medal: 8 players had Nett 70 or better. CSS was 71. 125 players.

The course wins more often than not. CSS going up to 71 isn't uncommon, particularly in medals

Don't often get high scores. Big s/f comp on Saturday - 80+ players. Course in great nick. Greens running nicely. Just a bit of breeze. Winner had 37 off 9 ahead of 3 others on the same score. Quite a few 35's, 34s and 33s. CSS = SSS (71 against par of 70). I was a bit surprised as I thought someone would hole a few putts and get 39/40 but quite a few tricky pins. Depending on conditions, winners usually around 40 pts/66 net.

Not often. Usually 37-38 is more than enough for stableford and net 68-69 will see you easily top three or winning medals. Of course there are exceptions and one of the reasons we have divisions so someone off a mid-high handicap having a career day means those in division one still have a shout although I fear that's perhaps a separate tangent and thread regarding that

39 points won all 3 divisions in our stableford this weekend.

The course is playing short with the recent dry spell though. Normally a couple of shots less would get the win.

When I saw the thread title I was thinking of my medal scores for the last two weeks....

We don't play stablefords (one or two per year)... So don't have a trend really....

I won on Saturday with 39 Points - honestly thought i'd still only place due to the conditions being fantastic!

2nd had 37 points!

We had some high scores in our weekend club comp, but unfortunately it was a medal! Course off the blue championship tees is par and SSS 72. CSS went up to 75 and the winner's score was a nett 72, with many nett scores up in the 80's including mine. Not sure why the scores were so high, but it was a bit breezy and the greens were hard and very fast. Many nice looking approach shots just ran straight off the back of the green, and chipping back wasn't always easy. Three times I took 5 to get down from quite close to the green, which didn't exactly help my score! One of my FCs playing off 7 had a 14 on one par 5 hole!

Was a medal at our place at the weekend, quite rare we see too many low scores in summer but if the course is a little softer in spring/autumn then can go pretty low, the weekend gone was clearly one of those days! 20 handicapper 84 (64), 10 handicapper 75 (65), 1 handicapper 68 (67), 21 handicapper 88 (67), 6 handicapper 74 (68), 13 handicap 81 (68), 2 handicapper 71 (69) against a par 72 sss 72

My course is SSS 71 against par 72 so slightly easier than average I guess.

Yours is SSS 72 against Par 72 so by my reckoning your 20 handicapper winner that shot 64 is even more impressive than our 42 pt winner in our stableford comp?:eek:

gotta feel for the 1 handicapper who shoots 68 gross, doesnt win his own division let alone the whole medal lol

Looking through the winning scores since start of april now our SSS is 2 under the par of 73 so a level round is 38 points or 71

39 points CCS 0

68 net CSS +3 (two of them as well on greens which were not anywhere near recovered)

43 points CSS +2 (there was also a 40 from a cat 1 player)

36 points CSS +3

71 (not showing a CSS)

36 points CSS +3
