As HID is a long-suffering hibby this sort of chat is banned in our house, but what a topsyturvy season hibs are having - it could still be fantastic for them or one of the most dispiriting ever...

Much lauded earlier in the season for their attractive brand of football, they reached the league cup final, looked like mounting a serious challenge rangers for the championship and now are in the Scottish Cup final - a trophy they famously haven't won since 1902.

But their form slumped and Rangers ended up running away with the championship, they lost the league cup final and, while they will make the playoffs, they are struggling to secure second place and face an uphill battle to come through for the second promotion spot.

Incredibly, they could end up winning nothing and failing to get promotion!

Much as I'd like to see them end the cup hoodoo and get back to the SPL, I'm tending towards thinking they're going to end up with a double dose of heartbreak. Losing the cup final and condemned to at least another year in the championship.

Can't see them winning the cup final, haven't seen enough of the championship to comment on what their chances of promotion look like but sheer volume of games means the playoffs are always tricky.

Hibs will neither gain promotion, nor win the cup this season.

A new phrase, "Hibsing it" ergo "making an ass of things" is quickly becoming common amongst football fans online.

TBH it depends who they get in the cup final. IMHO they'll have more of a chance of beating Rangers
:(:(:(.

I don't think they'll beat either of them, and altho as all of us from round here know tipping in OF games is a mug's game, it's hard to see past Celtic tomorrow, especially with Rangers having a few key injuries vs Celtic having pretty much a full squad to choose from.

I don't think Rangers will pose a big threat up front and they will struggle to cope with Griffiths at the back.

Hard to disagree with that. Rangers' only real chance is if Celtic fail to turn up as they have a few times this season.

Hibs have a chance against Rangers in the final but even less against Celtic than Rangers have in the semi.

Whatever the result of the cup final I'm looking forward to hearing the Hibees supporters in full voice singing 'Sunshine on Leith' - grand! If they are up against the blue weegies goodness only knows what else we'll be getting regaled with - though tomorrow will give us a good idea.

Come on now, this is Hibs thread. There are plenty of other places you can bash Rangers to your heart's content.

I'm enthralled watching Hibs as their season lurches from triumph to disaster and back again. I get the feeling most hibs fans are watching through their fingers....

Lad from my neck of the woods got signed by Hibs in the summer and loaned out to East Fife, getting some decent reviews up there for his hard working style, hoping to get a run out next year for the 1st team (Jamie Insall)

I love the Hibees fans singing SoL - some grand stuff on Youtube - 30,000 voice sing-a-long at Hampden - magic.

Think you may well be right fairway dodger. It'll be a painful end to the season.

Whilst Stubbs has had them playing good football, at times, I feel that the current crop of players just aren't good enough. Stokes should have been left to languish in the background at Pathhead. He turned his back on Hibs in his move to Celtic and should never have been brought back, even on loan. Cummings wanted away last summer, perhaps they should have moved him on as his current for hasn't been anywhere near what it was last season. As for yesterday, I hope Stubbs ripped him a new backside after the game, that miss could have been so costly to the team. No place for silly schoolboy trick when you are on that stage, very unprofessional.

I'm from the other side of the city, but, really do feel for the Hibs support at this time. Their team is letting them down far too often. I do hope they can get through to the promotion play off, but, I have my doubts.
