Just a quick introduction, I have been looking at this forum for a few months and thought I may like to post a bit. I have been playing golf for 25 years got very low in my early twenties when jobs were thin on the ground, investigated going pro but realised I would be forever in debt. I have been a member of a club for the last 4 years after a period of 15 years nomadic golf. Since joining a club my golf took a dive and my scoring has been poor, however I now feel I am turning a corner and have realised my swing issues and set about correcting them. The net result being some nice low scores. I am hoping to get some consistency back into my scoring, having had a few good rounds and some real shockers! I have also got a bit carried away with equipment stuff and have been chopping and changing drivers at a ridiculous rate, and mucking around with shafts .... All of which did not sort out my golf!

^ cheers , how do I put my bits and bobs in below, cannot seem to edit my profile .. Are there ipad issues ?

Ellesborough just out side Aylesbury.

Would love to meet for a game some time, I a play at AVGC and live in Tring. We also have Fundy who plays AVGC and the brothers grim who play Aylesbury Park.

Welcome to the forum.

There are a few GC around Aylesbury I used to play the one around Fairfordleys on the way out to Oxford (used to have a flat in Stone) and there is one on the way to Bierton with a driving range are these AVGC? It has been a while since I have played there. I am a bit of a practice ground golfer, just love hitting golf balls for hours on end .. it's just a good way for me to relax.

I'm with you on that

welcome to the forum, what was your lowest h/cap and what have you started at again with your new club?

Welcome to the forum mate. Just remember, it isn't OUR forum, it's YOURS as well now.... Get posting and along to a few meets. It's the best thing you'll do in golf..

Lowest was 4 exact I cannot remember :( came back at 13.7 and have been pushing it down from there new club caused a hiccup. The greens are great but the breaks and nuances have to be learned. Had a couple of low rounds and just getting comfortable putting 2 good nines together. When it happens its going to be cause some shouts of "bandit" but hey if you hit balls till the gloves wear holes and hands get blistered then a good result is deserved.

Yep me too, I hit balls every night to relax. No non of those are AVGC and the one in Bierton is on its last legs, I understand it is up for sale... £1m and its yours.

AVGC is Stewkley Road, Wing, Leighton Buzzard. Bedfordshire, LU7 0UJ.

hi Harpo, have played Ellesborough a couple of time with Dean Elliot whos a member there, you probably know him?

nice course. welcome to the forum.

Sadly I hardly know any one, played a couple of roll ups etc but spend most time on the practice ground or when the course is dead quiet. There are two great things about golf in my opinion one is you can have great fun playing with people and the other is you can have great fun playing on your own. I had kind of shied away from social golf because of my poor game, I was so embarrassed and frustrated with it.

welcome Harpo

as has been mentioned am at AVGC. Used to be a member at Studley Wood and we played matches at Ellesborough a couple of times then, nice track :)

if you ever fancy a knock give us a shout, plenty on here in the area

Yep, 9.7, your too crap to play with me :o ....... You stay on the practice ground!

Kidding of course.

Do you guys get out in the week ? And how much notice do you need?
Ellesborough is looking a little rough at the moment due to irrigation work and this dreadful weather, should recover though and be back to normal.
