qwerty is hosting LB, lincon Quaker and odvan today at pleasington. seems to be a bit of slabbering going on. scores to be settled, pounds to be won and lost! that kind of malarkey!

im sure we will find out what happened soon!
 
Two very good players. Played a round with both recently and they are in great form.... Don't know where I'd put my money.....
 
Right, lets get straight to the point before the village idiot beats me to it. :eek:

Liverbirdie has been harping on all week with countless emails so myself and odvan challenged him and steady qwerty.

So the worlds luckiest golfer went and had a birthday round and beat us 3&2. We went 2 up quickly after birdies at 2 & 4 but he then went on a run off 3 birdies and not one included a well struck shot. Edges of bunkers were used lucky bounces out of bunkers and even more lucky putts dropped leaving odvan and myself to put up with his stupid smug grin. ;)

In all fairness to steady qwerty he wasn't as steady as usual but nearly still managed a couple of birdies and some good golf. Odvan had some good holes but today for me I was very average. Made a couple of nice birdies but made way too many bogeys.

Would like to say well done to lb for a round of 3 over that included 3 putting twice but I just can't do it. Never have so many crimes against golf been committed today by one person .:whoo:

Well thanks for the game Glyn.

After 2 days of trash talk between me and the main purveyors (Odvan and Links quacker), I decided to put this thread on before we went out, for the losers to put some of their pre-match talk on. It was all in good fun, but some of it would put Muhammad Ali to shame.

Although we were two down after 4, me and dave hung on to birdie 4 holes on the run gross, and seen it home overall 3 and 2. I won't go into the superlative birdies by me and dave which involved some great golf, but as I said to him beforehand " beware the up and down man".

All of it was played in good fun and glyn was a good sportsman, but I wonder if he"ll post up some of his pre-match nuggets???
 
The village idiot even had the audacity to ask me for petrol money when he dropped me off, this despite his offer of 'picking me up on the way through' - a mere 5 minute diversion! Not even satisfied with the take home winnings!

Thanks for hosting Dave, a lovely course spoilt by LB's company as usual :D. Myself and LQ couldn't quite get a run of consistent holes going but its safe to say that my putting cost us dearly, both Dave and I were absolutely terrible on the dance floor. Hate saying this but Mr L Birdie is in terrific form at the moment and ya can't give him an inch (although he'd like an extra one as he ain't seen his for years unless he's lookin in the mirror ;)).

Good luck today to both LQ and LB in their respective comps and here's looking forward to the rematch at Woodhall (ahem) :D.
