I have just taken up the great game again after 17 years absence! I have had lessons on a local driving range and am looking to join a club in the Stratford-upon-Avon area. Any recommendations?

You have plenty of choice in the Stratford area. These two are both worth taking a look at:
Stratford Oaks is about 10 years old. It is an enjoyable test and the practice facitlities are great. Golf Monthly Top 25 Coach Andy Dunbar is professional there.
Stratford GC is a really good established course - quite flat but tree lined with some cracking holes - the greens have always been superb when i have visited.
