Herts County Senior Champs - live scoring

This seemed to work the other day for Sherwood and brought me some luck so thought I'd try it again.

Scores update after the player returns his card.

Top 30 gross qualify for round 2 tomorrow. I've counted approx 45 players with handicap of 6 or less so going to have to play well to get through to tomorrow.

Well done Rick , came 6th in ours last week but we only have the one round .

Didn't qualify!! Missed by 2 shots. Played like an absolute nob and doubled my last hole from 100 yards out from the middle of the fairway. Par would have got me in despite how badly I played.
Putter stone cold again.....that's 2 rounds running now and the putter is normally my strong club.
Company was fantastic and one of our 3 ball qualified with only 24 putts.....he holed everything from everywhere.
I think that's me back up to 7 now (6.5)

Definitely didn't help when I tweaked my back hitting out of wet rough and hit a hidden tree root....sharp pain down my back and couldn't swing fully for at least 6 holes.
Feels ok now, but really could have done without that.

Sorry to hear that mate, I'd checked earlier on and saw you top 30 and thought everyone had finished, you probably could do with a few days off the course😃

Definitely the understatement of the year! Next game not planned now until Saturday.
I was picked for the APGC Scratch team for Sunday's match after playing with the Scratch team captain in the club champs......he was 2nd, 1 shot behind the winner and 1 shot ahead of me. Unfortunately my missus has plans so I can't play....gutted, as scratch team golf was one of the reasons I rejoined my old club.......not much planned for next week either so definitely time to recharge the batteries for the following weeks onslaught:

I haven't booked anything yet, but will be staying over Tues/Wed evening so I'm sure we can arrange something. I'm there with some others from my club (man and a woman). Sandy is also going to be there. Thanks for the offer :thup:

Just noticed that this was played at my home club. To think that I had the chance to watch the stars in action....

Seeing your remarks about your last hole double, I'm guessing you finished on the 12th. It's a really hard green to hit and hold from any distance... maybe I should have sold my services as a caddy

Actually no, finished on the 8th with a very straightforward 110 yard shot into the green. Flag was back right with a bunker at the front right of the green and loads of room left, so I stupidly went for the pin and didn't quite catch it fully and dropped it into the bunker.
Hit a great bunker shot out that I thought was going to be a tap in, but to my horror it started to trickle away and ran off the green leaving me a short sided chip back and then a 2 putt for a 6...... Didn't deserve to make the cut after that.

I thought those of us that started on the par 3 9th had the harder job as it was straight into the wind and then you've got the tough par 3 2 holes later. Much easier start on the 1st with a great birdie chance par 5.
