I recorded a few of my swings on the practice ground today (balancing my phone on my bag so they are not great and also the wrong way round when you look at it but hey tilt your necks :D ) and after posting a swing of me whilst striking it poorly I thought I would post one of my 'average' swings that I got on camera today- it wasn't one of my best or one of my worst so is probably how I swing most of the time. The shot was with a 7 iron and carried to the 150 marker and bounced on a mile due to the frozen ground. I seemed to strike it pretty well but it was not dead straight, with probably around 10 yards movement in the air (no more than this, probably less)

Anyway I would love some help and advice / criticisms no matter how harsh, provided its constructive ;) So give me what you've got to get my game to the next level!

Thanks

I have to say that didn't look too bad even if I have got a crooked neck now. Maybe a little too far inside on the takeaway but the tempo and length looked pretty god and a nice balanced finish.

Me too Homer, I fell off my chair watching this one, doesnt look bad though but its so hard to watch at that angle. :D

Sorry lads... for a minute herb I thought it was because of laughter :o ! Anyway viewers watch at their own risk and I am not liable for long term neck damage ;)

Does anybody know how you can rotate a video? I just couldn't work it out and watch it by tilting my laptop on its side :D

thanks for watching and commenting though, much appreciated and if I can turn it round I will so you can give me some more feedback.

The only other thing I saw by keep hitting the pause button until I got the moment of impact is that maybe the weight is still fractionally behind the ball on the right side which may cause you to release the hands early sometimes and flip the ball on a right to left hook

Well picked up homer, I hadn't even noticed when playing it in slo mo but now you pointed it out you are right! It only looks like a small portion of my weight though, but this has been a problem in the past so I will concentrate in getting all my weight through to my left side next time out. There is sort of a secondary weight transfer once my swing is over to compensate for this so I do in fact end with all my weight transferred but not at the right time.

cheers

The only thing to watch with that is that you don't start trying to slide the hips out of the way too early to get across as you will come out of the shot and begin to hit high weak fades. It looks to me like you maybe a bit cramped for room from coming inside too quickly. It is a problem I struggle with on a regular basis.

One way I have found that really helps give me room to turn through the ball at impact is to open your left foot a small amount at address. This justs gives you more room and will allow the weight to come over naturally as opposed to getting stuck behind the ball at impact and having to compensate with the hands or worse still throwing your shoulders at it (over the top)
