Henrik Stenson Pre-shot routine

Did anyone else see Stenson doing a few short swings pre-shot with the club backwards? Anyone know what it is about?

I was at the Matchplay and several of us spotted this and wondered what it was about

I presumed it was because the ground was wet and if he did it the normal way round he would have water all up the face of the club before playing the shot

Theclub was off the ground and he also did a couple of swing the right way round so would be surprised if it was that but could be wrong

Think he was struggling a bit this afternoon, especially against Mikko. So he probably has a drill, or a thought that he works on with his coach that he was trying to implement. Coetzee started really analysing his takeaway as the day went on, and had a practice putt almost every time after putting out. They just have things they're working on, and use things like that as a drill.

I spoke to Pete Cowan on the Tuesday and Wed and he said that Stensons swing was a bit off and that he wanted to be at home as his wife was due to have their 3rd baby. Pete is on nice guy and always speaks if he's spoken to
