Help with driver setup needed

After I had a series of lessons at the back end of last year, I was hitting my drives pretty straight and a decent distance, however recently my drivers have started going off again.
I have another lesson booked for next week but have a couple of big games before then, so today I have been trying different things out and the one that seems to work the best is setting up with my hands in front of the clubhead, this is not what I have been taught.
So my question is, is this a good idea or should I put up with bad driving until my lesson next week?

no idea Bob, I think with my normal swing I am not gettign the contact right and the ball tends to go right sometimes it slices quite a lot, If I concentrate on swinging through the ball tends to go very high and left.
