Dear Fellow Golfers and Fanatics

I have just been given a job to run the scoreboards/ carry a scoreboard, so yesterday as soon as I had got my place I went looking for accommodation…

Erm… there is none! I rang one place and the owner just laughed at me!

So, does anybody have a sofa free for a "homeless" worker, who is good at the washing up!
 
yeah, I thought about a tent but i can't drive so I kind of have to be near a bus route or near to st andrews itself!
 
You haven't really thought this through have you?

Where do all the other scoreboard operatives live during the week or are they all locals?

Can't the R&A help out?
 
The bloke who lives over the road from me has a spare one stuck in his front garden, has been there weeks. I can ask him for you if you want, although you will probably have to collect it yourself
 
Quite happy to let you have mine...in Edinburgh. I think the going rate is about £50 an hour during the Open but I can let you have it for £40 seeing as you're a forumer. There's trains to St Andrews and everything.

The words beach and tarpaulin spring to mind immediately.

Seriously, hope you get lucky.

Try further afield in places like Cupar as they will be taking bookings and may have a house to let cheaper than the 5K I heard St Andrews were looking for. OK if theres a group etc, colleges etc. good Luck.
 
If you have nowhere to stay and now way of getting to nowhere, I'm sure there are plenty from that area who would be only too happy to take your place.
You might even negotiate as small donation to your favourite charity in return. :D
