Hi All,
Please can you give me some advice on waterproof trousers.

I am looking to spend between £40-£60 and have been looking at the Sunderland GT Pro II but not had any experience of them, the reason is I have Stuburt waterproofs and the trouser zip has totally gone after 9 months and the jacket works but the waterproof zip has peeled off after 8 months and I've lost confidence in Stuburt waterproofs.

Has anyone had experience of the Sunderland trousers or can you please recommend a pair for me in the price band?

I've got Proquip Neptune 11 waterproofs and they're fine. Good quality and not expensive - probably got some on Ebay for £40. You'll not go far wrong with them.

I have the Sunderland trousers - bought from Clubhouse golf for about £100 fort he whole suit. Had no problems at all - comfortable, don't get that horrible swishing sound from cheaper fabrics, and most importantly haven't leaked on me yet (although it has to be said, I've not played in anything heavier than light rain thus far).

My regular playing partner wears Proquips and has no complaints about them either. So they are a good alternative if you decide they look better, or are a better deal etc.

I can't justify £150 on a pair of trousers when I have a family to think of.

Thanks for the advise fellas will pick up a pair of the Sunderland or Pro Quip, the Sunderland do look comfy as well.

I like nice gear, but would have a helluva job justifying £150 on Golf Trousers, but then again, I hate playing in the rain !!

I have a pair of Tog24 waterproof trousers (Goretex) which i got from one of their discount outlets for about £40. Bargain. They're the same as any other goretex trouser. Try to avoid anything that's just made out of nylon with some rubbish coating that will wear off after a few wearings. I know this from years of mountain biking and kayaking.

hope that helps.

My best pair of gortex have no pockets in otherwise I would use them for golf.

I got a callaway rain suit for £99 last year. It has been excellent, and boy has it been tested!

I have the same trousers and as mentioned although they are not in yr price bracket they are definitely worth the extra money. Quiet, comfortable and 100% waterproof also an exceptional guarantee. spend the extra I doubt that you will regret it.

I have not found anything below 100 quid that will do the business and I have tried most of the well known brands.
