Evening,
Hope someone could assist here.

My ping G irons are only 5months old and for some reason I've got black marks appearing on face. However, not wear the ball is striking the face. The marks appear on the out edge but on the front. I can't see how and where these are appearing from? Has anyone else had these appear on clubs. I use a trolley in so there's Next to no bag clatter.

They do rub off we a very hard clean on them. Don't really want head clovers on them.

Your advise/comment she are appreciated

Ta.

I've got the exact same on my G's and I think I may have also had something similar on my G20s but not any where near as bad.
I've still not figured out what it could be, I did read that they put some form of coating on the G's but I'm not 100%

I'm glad I'm not the only one then!

I think you'll find most cast clubs that are not finished in the traditional chrome/polished finished of previous years will do this. I'd also expect that due to everyone craving the soft forged feel, in order to achieve this there would have had to be some sort of change in the surface finish which will no doubt have some sort of effect

You don't have black wedges that could be rubbing / clattering against them?

No pal.... but checked the wedges and there is no black marks. I'm wondering if it's the ping finish coating. They've had another clean tonight so removed the marks. Going to keep a log and might email ping.
