Hi Folks,

I've posted here a few times.I'm only 13 and want to be a pro when I'm older.

I've got Taylormade Womens RBZ Driver, Mens R11s 3 Wood and a mens RBZ S2 Hybrid.
I have 1 vokey wedge and 2 other wedges.
My irons are Wilson teenager irons, 4 to 9 + a SW.

I really want new irons, but the pro said mens were going to muck up my game at this moment in time. My playing partners are all starting to get mens irons. I'm probs going to get new irons for Christmas, and was originally going to get mens. But what about womens irons. I would be looking at Taylormade or Titliest, I know Taylormade do womens irons, but what about Titliest. If I was to get the Taylormade womens, I would get the RBZ S2 ones. I know the speed blades are coming out, so they would be another option aswell as the RBZ stage 2. Will Taylormade make Speedblades in the womens spec?

thanks for you help :)

Hi Matty and welcome young fella.

All depends on how big you are, not your age. If you are a big strapping lad then yes you might be ready for men's clubs but if you are a bit smaller then junior or ladies clubs might be better. Best bet is chat to a pro or club fitter to get their advice.

Welcome along. Where do you play and what's your handicap.

Hi Homer!

I play in the North East of Scotland on a very hilly course.

I sadly play of 19 at the moment. I can easy get down to 13 ish, as I played to a 13 handicap the other day in the Junior Medal Final night! So really in the first few medals of 2014, I'm going to be aiming to get down to around 13. My problem is I can't hit any club that far. I can hit my driver around 200 yards. I am one of the best handicapers for my age, in my area, but my opposition can outdrive me by m about 30 yards. Saying that I am working hard on the turn in my swing! My short game saves me!

Possibly but why not wait til you've grown a bit more then you'll have a wider choice of clubs to choose from.

Good luck with your quest to being a pro.

Matty, I tell you something (from someone who works with kids around your age), it's completely refreshing and heart-warming to see someone your age as strong-willed and confident enough to declare and strive towards realising their dream job or goal, despite knowing the hard work ahead.

Best of luck to you pal. Work hard.

Why not contact Taylormade directly and ask if they are bringing out a ladies model. Have you and your pro considered graphite shafts which would be lighter and therefore give you more swing speed. The only downside being the longer shafts may be harder to control. I admire your determination and desire and hope the hard work you are clearly putting in pays off
