Well that made a change to a nice sunny afternoon!!!

Wind and rain , constantly changing conditions , sometimes a 2club wind out there today ,
certainly made the golf brain kick back in

Makes a change from just noting the yardage and whacking yer favorite club

Whilst I have to put up with gale-force winds even in the height of summer, it was a big drop in temperature today- even with a jumper on.

Time for the under-armour to be dug out.

We're up in The Lakes so it's been a quick awakening to winter (y) golf! Very wet, tough rough and preferred lies essential. Hoping The Eden course will be a bit drier tomorrow and the wind may have dropped.

I started with my long sleeved under armour compression on today but felt so restricted and just couldn't get through the ball so dove into a bush and took it off - played heaps better after that!

Windy on the range tonight and going to get colder and windier. Forecast for the weekend not good with cold temperatures, wind and heavy rain. Ideal for a club match and monthly stableford

We had a fierce squall at lunchtime and when we got home discovered that a kestrel had flown straight into our patio windows. We have a regular fly past by a sparrow hawk but seldom see a kestrel in the village. Sad, beautiful bird.

It's not really cold yet but it feels it as it's been so sudden. Not playing till Friday morning and I'm quiet looking forward to it not being baking hot in the sun and having to think a little more with some wind thrown in for good measure.
Call me sadistic but I love it.

Was tough with the wind last night, we let a single player through and I watched him side on pitch on from around 100 yards.
It was awesome to see the ball flight as it looked great then almost stopped mid air and dropped like a stone as it hit the wind :D
I'll stick to my cr@p low punch shots thank you

Ya bunch of big jessies ;) We're only getting what should be considered average conditions for this time of year. It's been too good recently and we've just become accustomed to it. What will we do in another couple of months when it really is winter :ooo:

Very true, DCB it is Mid Oct after all.

I still wore shorts and a tee shirt for my game on Tuesday morning and will be wearing the same on Sat in the medal;)

Having a go in a comp today:eek: and although it's sunny the wind is baltic. Not putting on my UA yet though. Like DCB says it's too early for that.

Put the heating on and put the clubs away. Nutz to that !

It was 3degC this morning when I got in the car. Plenty cold enough for UA, winter mittens and my wooly bunnet.

OMG, we were 10deg warmer. Mind you it was blooming freezing on the course due to the wind so did get my winter gloves out for the first few holes. Not long in and can't feel my feet

Did 7 holes after work and hands bloody freezing. Massive difference from 48hrs ago. Hit full 9 iron from 120 yards and watched it hit the wind and land 30 yards short! Best get used to it for the next 5 months

Played Eden Course yesterday and it was chilly but nearly in Scotland so to be expected ;) Lovely sunshine - felt like early winter rather then autumn though!

Nice woodburner in the clubhouse to go with my piping hot egg and bacon bap afterwards

I played a local course yesterday in that wind and struggled a bit with the par 3's - well struck shots coming up short even when taking more club than usual. Loads of stuff blown onto the greens too, made putting in between the acorns quite interesting :D
