Hi,

I just thought I had better say hello, as I changed my username, because it was… quite frankly rubbish!

So I used to be hindmarshsl, now I'm not! :D

I also realised now that I never properly introduced myself either when I signed up. So…

I am a golf nut… play normally at home at Market Drayton and at uni at Royal Aberdeen. I probably play minimum once a week, even through the Aberdonian winter, but in the holidays I try to get 3 maybe 4 rounds a week! My aim is to become a cat 1 golfer and play for one of the uni teams! Fingers crossed by the end of my 5 year degree I will get a game or two. Any free time and money goes on travelling, and combined with my other hobby of photography I have managed to visit and capture some pretty nice places.

I haven't managed to get to a meet yet but I do hope to soon! It has been good craic on here since I signed up a while back, and long may it continue!

P.S I feel I should also explain the Wilson Staff obsession… I bought all my clubs with pocket money and odd jobs money, and it was in 2008… when a certain Mr Harrington was playing quite well… fickle I know, but they were also a lot cheaper than the "bigger" brand names! Soon though, gradually, a bit more variation is going to creep into the bag with a titleist driver on the way, and the rest to be updated with whatever suits!

A lot of great courses in and around Aberdeen. Cruden and Murcar do some cracking winter deals.

Hello you maybe quite popular up there in Aberdeen with the new trump course due to open maybe you could organise a meet? :-)

Yeah, can't wait to play there, I will just have to live without food for a month then I will be able to afford it!! :p Once my exams are over, I would actually be happy to organise a meet if there was sufficient interest… As craw said, there are some cracking deals on at the moment!!

Did you join a new club at uni?

Yes, I am now a member at Royal Aberdeen as well as my home club! :D But, both combined would probably cost less than the average cheap adult membership, as I am on junior rates… ;)

Cool. I'm staying in London for uni so luckily I'll be able to stay at my club. Did you find many golfers at uni?

Member of Royal Aberdeen - you will now be everyone's bestest mate. I played there last year a week or so before the Walker cup, great course and club, shame I played it rubbish. Payed the full £100.00 fee.

I normally go up to Aberdeen twice a year with work, during the week. I'll look you up next time.

If you get me a cheap round, I'll buy you a crate of pot noodle!!!(student food).

Was looking up your home club. SOOO cheap

Is it like this everywhere outside London?

Yeah tonnes of golfers up here, I nearly didn't even get into the golf society because my handicap wasn't good enough! But, Aberdeen does attract a lot of decent golfers… for obvious reasons!

As for the fees at home, normally they aren't that cheap, but my club is really trying to bring juniors into the club, and the adult membership really suffered before the recession so now they are trying to recoup the money back. The club is nearly back to full which is good!

Haha, yes the pot noodle… I have never even had one! I try and eat pretty well, have yet to have a ready meal either… :o

Problem is, because my membership is so cheap, I am not allowed any of the privileges that go with the normal membership! So I can't sign on guests, etc. Sorry… but if you do come up and fancy a game, drop me a message and I could show you round the course or go somewhere else.

Boooooooooo, never mind. On my next trip Cruden bay is hopefully on the list, so may get in touch for if you fancy a knock elsewhere.
