hello again! Winter golf in the sun recommendations?

Hi All

I was on the forum before as Collins but for some reason I've not been able to post despite 3 times writing to the administrators for a reason, without reply!

I have been thinking about going to the canary islands next Jan/Feb for about 5 days to play golf in the sun, have any of you been golfing there or anywhere else where there are good golfing facilities and guaranteed warm weather, that you would recommend. I'm on a budget of £500 (max) including flights and accomodation so nothing too fancy.

You may struggle for £500 all in to be honest. The Maspalomas area of Gran Canaria is lovely and the course there is decent

500 quid? Dream on!
You'd better pack a pile of sandwiches, otherwise you'll go hungry!
I'd recommend finding a hotel and golf complex so you don't need to hire a car. Don't fly with Ryanair as you will blow your budget on transporting your clubs, hire a set of bats at the resort, and learn to like drinking tap water!

Or start saving up for a proper holiday!

Thanks guys, I thought I was being a bit ambitious but will have a look anyway! I like sandwiches Heidi but not all week!

How much do airlines charge to take to carry clubs then?

Ryanair are the worst, about 100 notes, cheaper to rent when you get there. So basically a fifth of your budget is blown in transporting clubs!

You won't get much change from a grand for a weeks golfing holiday!

If you want winter sun, then Turkey would be my first port of call. Some great hotels with courses on site offering good deals but even then I think you'll struggle to get much for £500
