They are designed to fit most types of trolley although the GK wheels are slightly smaller and so are probably best put on and fixed with cable ties

Hi all, just a question about hedgehog wheel covers. Can they be used on electric trolleys or are they designed to be used on pull trolleys only and do they make a big difference if so?

they are primarily designed for push/pull trolleys where they are fitted with plastic clips.
I have seen (though I can't now find it) a version that was screwed into the wheels of electric trolleys due to the higher torque.

With regards to fitting them to GK's here is what Sandy Catford told me
"When we introduced our treaded wheels they weren't to replace hedgehogs but are to avoid wheels slipping in the wet. The good news is, hedgehogs can be fitted on top of our treaded tyres with no ill effect. The method of fixing is still a little rudimentary, but effective (cable ties). The clips supplied with the hedgehogs aren't quite right for our wheels
I have to confess we were going to open up a dialogue with the hedgehog people a couple of months ago (we've had a chat in the past with them, nice people) but then summer came along with its usual chaos. You've prompted me to bring up the subject again and see what we can get rolling.
The hedgehog system is a patented design, so I would imagine the most we would do is something in conjunction with them. No point reinventing the wheel! and it does seem like they work, even if they do make your trolley look a bit weird...
One question that people ask is whether fitting them would invalidate your warranty. Absolutely not.
