Ok maybe a slightly over the top threat title but today I lost a brand new Prov1x ball.

Even though I didn't pay cash for them but used my 2s pot winnings I purchased 9 new Prov1x balls.

£4 a ball yes you heard right the new ball has increased in price and it was hurtful when I saw it sail out of bounds into a field never to be seen again.

Losing a ball on it's first experience of contact with a club is highly frustrating. Playing Lough Erne on Friday I'd teed up a brand new egg. Water all down the right side I decided to revert to a previously used ball which I proceeded to lose in water on the 5th. This forced me to use a new one. It also found the water :(.

Oh no......lets hope you don't lose any tee's either then.

It's only a golf ball, get a grip.

Lol luckily as I said I didn't pay cash so I was only jesting.

But £4 is a lot for a ball

Actually replaced it with a battered Srixon soft feel and this ball flew miles and seemed to cut through the wind a lot better.

That's why i buy Vice balls .... just as good as Pro v's and much cheaper

Its never nice to lose a brand new ball especially one of those.

Its a pity Titleist stopped selling the practice pro v's, same ball but for half the money.

One of life's pleasures is finding a good as new Pro V1 whilst searching for your own lake ball. I have a few now that I keep saving for a special course. Maybe this year...

Interesting. I've never seen these before and just googled them now. I will have to give these a try.

I use the Pro Plus and can't tell the difference, I ordered on a Tuesday from Germany and they arrived Thursday morning and saved a packet!

What's not to like

A PP got a new ball out of the sleeve on the first and hit it right, we could not find it and he was shouting at a fourball on the ninth green if they had picked it up, they said no and he screams are you sure. I told him to play a drop near me. Walks over to my trolley and it was about 3 ft away nestled in the only tuft of grass within 30 yd. £ 1.50 each those are he says quite seriously.
