Just popped to the local AG to get them to take an adaptor off one shaft and put it on another for me to be met with "sorry we dont do that anymore, because of health and safety we're not allowed a heatgun anymore"

Turns out their "club repairs" section now is basically only for fitting grips and they're allowed to shorten a shaft with a pipe cutter

Almost certainly they don't use white spirit, they will use the modern grip fluid.
