What is everybody's feelings on wearing a cap, personally i have tried especially with the blazing sun we have witnessed these last few weeks. The problem i have is that at the point of leaving my address to start the backswing my head just ever so slightly moves and hey presto my line of sight has gone.

Now i know the pro's wear them for monetry reasons i.e sponsorship, advertising etc but over these last few weeks at various courses as i play in a society every other week i can count barely double figures of golfers wearing them.

One last point is it me or when Sky or the feed they get from CBS ESPN etc show the players in official PGA photos without caps on, everyone seems to be rather 'thinning' on top with a very high forehead and some are barely recognisable.????

Pure health reasons for me, pale skin and thinning on top, have to wear a cap or I suffer as the round goes on and more so the next day! Almost always wear one, used to doing so and cant say I know its there

Pretty important to wear a hat if you are planning on spending a few hours in the sun.

Health > fashion IMO

As long as you take it off when you are in the clubhouse!

I never wear a hat or glove. sometimes where a visor if the sun is low.

got my head slightly toasted on sunday though. I didn't put any cream on as it wasn't sunny at 10 when I was getting ready. big mistake!

Wear one because I am bald (75% by choice) and need to keep sun off my bonce and also on a hot day my head poor sweat and with no hair to catch it I have to wear a hat to stop it running into my eyes.

I never wore one at all for years. Then the hair started to thin out & I started to wear a cap in the summer. Now, in the winter, to keep my bald head warm, I wear a leather Australian hat (see my avatar). It's brilliant in the wind, being leather it sticks to my head and stays on when other people have to take off their caps and put on tea cosies. Wouldn't be without it.

Hate wearing caps but need to cover the solar panel up. I got sunstroke (or was it a massive hangover) and it put me out of action for a good couple of days, never felt so bad before. I always now wear a cap on even a half sunny day.

An old fashioned flat cap or bobble hat in the winter. If I was a pro though i'd go like Robert Rock and refuse to wear one or have some prototype hat that starts a craze and earns you a fortune that I'd blow on a night out with John Daly.

I struggle in the sun and if I don't wear a hat and the noggin gets burned I feel crap for a day or two after. Not worth it when there's so much golf to be played at the moment. HID has been buying a few caps to match the shoes too so I'm get ear ache if I don't wear one of the ones she's bought

I only wear them out of necessity. In summer use an Under Armour ColdBlack Hat. It has a high SPF, so the UV rays don't get through even in very intense sun. Learned my lesson after getting burned on top early last year. Hasn't happened since. In winter use an Under Armour Infrared Beanie. By far the warmest hat I've ever had.

Pretty much the same here, although bald through choice not genes :D

I always wear a cap when it's sunny, if it isn't, I don't bother.

I've been advised by Optician to wear sunglasses and a cap or visor when outdoors, as I am starting to develop cataracts and exposure to bright sunlight will speed up this process. Always amused when some tour pro golfers have suntanned faces, but totally white foreheads, when they take off their sponsors baseball caps! Not a good look! :)
