Couldn't see a thread for this so thought I'd start one.

Won my latest match on Friday away at Gerrards Cross giving away 10 shots....result was 2&1. Played a really nice guy and we had a great match played in glorious sunshine on a great course.

Into the regional semi finals now and playing my next match at home against a 22 handicapper......so only 2 holes where I don't have to give a shot........should be fun!!

How's everyone else doing?

Well played and Good Luck Rick

Seems that yo've adoptd the correct attitude - that, if he's getting that many shots, he actually needs them!

Wow, your flying along, I only played my first round match a week ago, lost on the last to a 7 handicap at batchworth park, first time I have played there, enjoyed the course and the company.

Two years on the spin now out 1st round in this, however still in the Telegraph/Wilson/Volvo/Nike singles.

Just booked to play him on the evening of 22nd July....it coincides with day 1 of the Jamega Pro Tour so the greens will be as fast as they can be......it's probably my best chance with so many shots to give away.

MashleyR7 and I played our first round of the 4bbb recently and narrowly pipped our opponents 8 and 7. Next round match postponed for today and is scheduled for next Wed

Well that was tight!! Giving away 14 shots was always going to be tough but managed to go down the last 1 up with him having a shot on the last. A solid par to his 5 was enough to close the match 1 up.
Very difficult in the current conditions....every time he topped one, it still ran 200 yards!

Through to the regional final now and hopefully will get a home draw....... Fingers crossed.

Well played Rick, keep it going!

I got rolled over big time in our club KO last night, receving 6 shots from a 5 handicapper, I didn't play very well (shanking balls OB for my second and third shots...) but he was rock solid, finished me of on the 14th, at which point he was level gross.

Played the area final tonight at home. Opponent was a 16 handicapper from West Middlesex so giving away 10 shots.....realised it was going to be tough when he blasted his 3 wood 20 yards past my (great) drive on the first where he was also getting a shot

Nip and tuck all the way, and we didn't halve a hole until the 11th. I was never behind until the 15th, but managed to get it straight back against a shot hole. Halved the last 2 in pars to take it back down the first........thought I was going to be in trouble giving away a shot, but my par was good enough as he found the trees.....
So into the Regional final now, not sure what to expect as never been this far before.....

Opponent was great company and we had a good time despite the rain.....top guy and summed up for me what these comps are all about

Just got the details....

Final is Monday 21st October at MacDonald Botley Park near Southampton, (never played it ).

Going to be looking for some cheap digs and a practice round on the Sunday......any forummers live nearby with a spare bed?

Well done Rick. Played Botley a few times, mate was a member. You could have stayed at mine, but in Scotland that week.

Not the greatest of courses, fairly wide, and can be a bit wet.
