I have just booked in for a fitting for a new set of irons at HB golf Academy in Ashford. I chose them because they are national fitting on the Titleist website. Has anyone ever been there for a fitting? So far I have been dealing with a chap called Howard who has been very helpful.

I know them really well. It's a great set up GC 2 with the face technology. Howard is a nice guy and all fitting is done indoors on the computer. I've had several lessons with him over the years and most recently a short game one which has seen me get 3 shots off my handicap.

If you have any questions you are welcome to ask or pm me

Thanks Chris, that is good to know. What are your thoughts on getting a fitting without actually seeing your ball flight like you would on an outdoor range? Or is it a case of the numbers on the computer don't lie?

I did a chipping lesson on the computer! Howard is good with the data and you do get to see the graphic representation of the flight. I don't think the data lies but I bought my clubs earlier this year where I could see the flight on the range but the computer, to me, wasn't as good as GC2.

I think what Howard is good at, is spotting swing issues that will potentially be affecting the flight etc - I obviously don't know your handicap but sometimes a tweek in the swing with the right shaft, loft and lie setup will be a great combination

I have been fitted via a monitor but personally would prefer to see balls flying real time. However if the fitter is really good then you have to put your faith in him. I don't think you'll regret it by the sound of things
