Anyone else suffering this year?

we have had high pollen levels this weekend and I have felt bunged up and shattered.

Havent felt this rough for a few years with hayfever.

Tried tablets but they haven't worked one bit.

Anyone know of any other options?

Have you tried swapping tablets - there are two different types ?

If not then nasal spray or speak to doc about injection

It has got worse this year for some.

I've struggled the last week or so, I have 2 tablets every morning. I've tried all of the tablets and the best ones for me are the cheap ones from Home&Bargain.

It only strikes me when levels are really high like they have been the last week or so.
Fortunately, a "one a day" tablet from Tesco works perfectly.
I feel for those that really suffer from it...

Netti pots. One through each nostril morning and night time with bicarb and salt. Take a bit of getting used to but I'm nowhere near as bad as I used to be.

Cetirizine Hydroclhoride on prescription + Sudafed nose spray when i can't breathe through my nose works well for me - much more effective than otrivine sprays or flixonase spray for me.

My son gets it badly. He's on prescription tablets, nasal spray, Vaseline around the nose, air purifier in his bedroom at night. The last two weeks have been particularly bad. He's tried all the other suggestions, no impact. From memory he has around another month of this before it eases 😟

Ice in a cloth on the eyes works best for me when they get really bad.

Other than that just try and manage through tablets. The home bargains ones mentioned above are good.

Have often wondered if golf (being in a field) makes it worse.

oddly I have started to suffer from it in the last few years. I buy the cheapo loratidine tablets from boots. they help but not 100%

I got some reactalite lenses when I changed prescription glasses last year and they tint grey in the sun and funnily enough I've found I've been less affected by the pollen. No idea if that's a coincidence. I do take a piriton before I play though just to be sure

Cheers all for the suggestions, I will try some different tablets and nasal spray I reckon.

Its forecast for very high all week here.

Same here, suffered the last couple of days with it. driving back from Tain it felt like i had sand in my eyes. had a tablet when i got in and was fine.

I would also ignore the branded ones - the Tesco own ones are far cheaper and work just as well

Used to get hayfever really bad a up until my mid 20's then it slowly eased over the years. My mam used to smear Vaseline on my eyelids and under my eyes to try an get pollen to stick, also took various off the shelf remedies. Other options are to wear glasses, avoid the long grass or trees, which for most of us on the forum is nigh to impossible when out on the course.

As an aside, if you suffer from hayfever, there's every chance you'll will be or will have suffered from eczema and/or asthma.

I find the one-a-day tablets useless after a couple hours. Benadryl Allergy Relief works wonders. Pop one in before and after a round (can be taken up to 3 times a day). Also Beconase nasal spray and a dab of vaseline around the nostrils keeps the hayfever away during a round.
