Have you replaced your pw?

I'd suggest getting the same shaft as in the rest of your irons and perhaps checking the lofts of your other irons so you can get a wedge that ties in properly.
If you have custom fit clubs and your lie angle is upright or flat then I'd get it bent the same way too.

I have been having problems with the pw that came with my irons(small head and different feel to my other wedges),and I am tempted to replace it with a nicer model.Who else has done this? , and are there any pitfalls to avoid? Cheers!

Didn't need to, as it is a blade anyway. If it had been a clumpy looking thing (may be with Ping written on it), then yes, I would have changed it for something more wedge like.

Need to check that the loft on your new one fills the gap between your 9i, and your next club down (gap wedge?).

It also helps to match the shaft and swing weight to your iron set.

I much prefer blade style wedges to the ones that comes with the set (that generally isn't), I got the MP-T to tie in with my irons and I have felt far more confident with it if nothing else.

Cheers Swinger and Murph,as for my problems Bob,my pw just dosent feel right for anything other than full shots.Chipping, pitching, and less than full power shots never work, but my other 3 wedges are all great for the above!

Hi Deke I have the same problem. Hit my PW fine on full and half shots but have no touch with it closer to the green it just goes blinking miles. Mines a cavity back and is very forgiving but is very strong loft 45 degrees. Because of that loft I think I'm stuck with it and as my bag is evolving and funds are limited I can't justify a replacement club.

Working hard on improving my game with the other two wedges and thinking that when I change clubs (at least 5 years) I'll get a set with less loft and buy 3 - 9 iron and purchase 48, 52, 56 degree wedges separately.

Doesn't help much in your decision making but I empathise with what you are saying.

My R9 PW is 46 degrees but I find it works fine. Not a thing of beauty but it sits well along with my 52 and 58. Are you sure its not just a confidence thing and that you are talking yourself into not liking the club and trusting it

I purchased a couple of Callaway wedges when I had my old set of irons but just couldn't get on with them. I've always preferred wedges that match my full set of irons.
When I got my MX200's early last year, I purchased the additional 50 & 55 degree wedges in the MX200 range and I love 'em to bits. Wouldn't swap them for the world.

Deke Iv got a 44 deg PW with my wilson staff Di7's these are very strong lofted irons as everyone knows but im well used to them now....I carry a 48 52 and 56 deg wedges so i have even 4deg gaps from my PW.I use this mainly on full shots from 120mtrs and out anything inside this i use the 48 or 52....

Kid2 you have sorted my problem! If it ain't broke don't fix it! As my other wedges give me all the shots I need near the green,I only need my pw as a mini iron for full power shots. Thanks to all posters, cheers!
